Privacy policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
In short: we collect what Pantrinho needs to work and to sync your pantry with the people you invite. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and the photos you take to read expiry dates never leave your phone.
This policy covers the Pantrinho app for Android and this website. Pantrinho is made by STRN Labs ("we"). Questions: support@strnlabs.online.
What we collect
- Your pantry. Items you add (name, category, where you keep them, quantity, expiry date, optional price and barcode), your shopping list, the names of your spaces, and who added, used or threw away each item. This is needed for the app to work and to sync it with the people you invite.
- Your account, if you add one. You can use Pantrinho without signing up. If you link Google or an email address, we store your name, email and profile photo so you can sign in on another phone and so the people in your spaces see who you are.
- Settings. Time zone and language (so reminders arrive at the right time), reminder time and how many days ahead, theme, and your optional onboarding answers (who you live with and what goes bad most).
- Notifications. A token for your phone, so we can send the daily reminder you turned on.
- Subscription. If you subscribe to Pro, whether it is active and when it renews or ends. Payment details stay with Google Play; we never see them.
- Usage and crashes. Which features are used (for example "item added" or "paywall viewed") and crash reports, to fix problems and improve the app.
- App integrity. A check from Google Play that requests come from the real app, to protect your data from abuse.
What we don't collect
- Your location, contacts, messages or files.
- Photos: the pictures you take to read an expiry date are processed on your phone and never uploaded. The camera is also used, on your phone, to scan barcodes.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your pantry, sync it with your household and send the reminders you asked for.
- To provide Pro features you pay for.
- To understand how the app is used and fix bugs.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (contract), based on our legitimate interest in improving and securing it, and, where required, with your consent (for example, notifications).
Who processes your data
These companies process data only to provide Pantrinho, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database, notifications, analytics, crash reports and app integrity.
- RevenueCat: manages Pro subscriptions bought through Google Play.
- Google Gemini API: when you ask for recipes (Pro), the names of the items that expire soon are sent to generate them. When you build a shopping list by chatting (Pro), your messages, the names of the items in your pantry and on your list, and how many people share the space are sent to draft it. Nothing that identifies you is sent.
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode we look up the product name and photo. Only the barcode is sent.
Your data may be stored and processed on servers in the United States. We don't sell or rent your data.
Sharing with your household
Everything in a space (items, shopping list, activity, and members' names and photos) is visible to the people you invite to that space. You can leave a space or remove someone at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use Pantrinho. When you delete your account, your profile and the spaces only you use are deleted right away. Items you added to a space shared with others stay in that space, because they belong to the household. Firebase keeps usage analytics for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days.
Your rights and choices
- Turn reminders off in More › Notifications.
- Export your pantry in More › Export to CSV (Pro).
- Delete your account in More › Account › Delete account, or see how to delete it without the app.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to stop processing it, by emailing support@strnlabs.online. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD), you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and access to your pantry is limited to you and the members of your spaces by our database rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Children
Pantrinho is not meant for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child gave us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
